Abstract

Abstract: This article sheds light on the problem of state-building in Africa. Most African countries have faced, and continue to face, numerous challenges and crises that have prevented them from establishing states according to international standards. Internal crises and external security threats have played a role in disrupting the social, political, and security structures in Africa. The aim of this study is to demonstrate the pivotal role of state institutions in strengthening and consolidating their functions and in preventing internal and external crises, using Algeria as a case study. The study, through the Algerian case, arrives at several conclusions, including that the continent's countries possess the necessary resources for advancement and development. Furthermore, the political acumen of the leader, in cooperation with the state's various branches and institutions, is a fundamental factor in the advancement and establishment of a modern state.
