الملخص
يعالج المقال علم الطوبونيميا بوصفه علمًا أساسيًا لفهم العلاقة بين الإنسان والمكان، وكشف الأبعاد الاجتماعية والثقافية والتاريخية للأماكن. ويؤكد أن أسماء الأماكن ليست مجرد تسميات، بل تحمل ذاكرة الجماعة وهويتها وخصوصيتها الحضارية، كما يبين أن الطوبونيميا تتقاطع مع التاريخ والجغرافيا واللسانيات والأنثروبولوجيا وغيرها من العلوم. ويتناول دورها في استرجاع الأسماء الأصلية وفهم التحولات التي عرفتها عبر الزمن، خاصة في ظل الاستعمار. ويخلص إلى أن الطوبونيميا أداة مهمة لحفظ الذاكرة الجماعية وتعزيز الانتماء والهوية الثقافية Abstract: The article examines toponymy as a fundamental field for understanding the relationship between humans and place, and for revealing the social, cultural, and historical dimensions of places. It emphasizes that place names are not merely labels, but carry the memory of a community, its identity, and its civilizational distinctiveness. It also shows that toponymy intersects with history, geography, linguistics, anthropology, and other disciplines. The article addresses its role in recovering original names and understanding the changes they have undergone over time, especially under colonial rule. It concludes that toponymy is an important tool for preserving collective memory and strengthening belonging and cultural identity.
