Abstract: Public procurement plays a crucial role in the management of public expenditure and the preservation of public funds in Algeria, as it represents a significant share of government spending. In order to strengthen transparency and efficiency in the use of public resources, Algeria has undertaken important reforms in its public financial management system, particularly through the adoption of the Organic Law on Finance Laws No. 18-15 (LOLF). This study aims to examine the role of public procurement in safeguarding public funds by conducting a comparative analysis between the new legal framework introduced by the LOLF and the former finance law system. The research highlights the mechanisms designed to promote transparency, accountability, and efficient public spending. It also analyzes the challenges facing the effective implementation of these reforms and their impact on public financial governance in Algeria.
