Intercultural Approach And Ffl Didactic In Palestine: An Analysis Of The Alter Ego Textbook

Abstract

This study examines the teaching of French as a Foreign Language (FFL) in Palestinian universities through an analysis of the Alter Ego textbook. The main problem addressed is the limited representation of cultural perspectives in teaching materials, which constrains the development of learners’ intercultural competence. The study aims to evaluate how cultural knowledge is presented in the textbook and to propose recommendations for pedagogical improvement. Findings indicate that, although intercultural elements are included, they are often generic and insufficiently adapted to the Palestinian context. Based on these results, the study offers practical recommendations for enhancing FFL teaching by integrating more contextually relevant intercultural content.
