Summary : Venous thromboembolic disease (VTE) can be an initial manifestation of occult cancer, thereby defining Trousseau's syndrome. We report the case of a 65-year-old patient with bilateral deep vein thrombosis of the lower limbs, accompanied by general deterioration in condition and non-specific digestive symptoms. Etiological investigation revealed significant elevation of tumor markers and a peri-hilar hepatic mass on imaging, suggesting cholangiocarcinoma, which was confirmed by liver biopsies. This case highlights the importance of a thorough etiological diagnostic approach when faced with any unexplained VTE with or without other associated clinical signs. A targeted clinical approach can help reduce the risk of diagnostic delays and optimize patient management.
