The article examines the interactive relationship between history and literature, explaining that history represents a human memory that preserves the experiences of peoples and interprets their political, social, and cultural transformations, while literature is considered an artistic expression that reshapes the human experience through a blend of reality and imagination. The article highlights that the relationship between the two fields is based on complementarity, as history provides literature with raw material in the form of events, characters, and contexts, while literature gives this material an aesthetic and human dimension through imagination and reconstruction, despite the difference between historical truth, which is based on documentation, and literary truth, which is based on creativity. It also shows that the use of history in literature appears in three main forms: the inspiration from historical events such as wars and revolutions, the use of historical figures through their artistic reconfiguration, and the rewriting of history from a literary perspective that mixes reality and imagination in order to reinterpret the past and project it onto the present. The article concludes that this interaction between history and literature produces a complex form of knowledge that combines documentation and creativity, allowing for a deeper rereading of the past and a better understanding of the present.
