This study explores how American hip-hop discourse is recontextualized within Arab sociocultural and gendered realities through the lyrics of the Moroccan female rapper Soultana. Through the use of Fairclough’s three-dimensional model of Critical Discourse Analysis, the study examines how global hip hop’s linguistic and stylistic resources are appropriated to express female empowerment and political resistance in the Arab context. The research puts Arab female rap on debates of globalization and American cultural influence to emphasize tensions between traditional values and modern expressions of women’s rights. A close textual and discursive analysis of Soultana’s songs Sawt Nssa and 38.28 reveals how pronouns, metaphors, euphemisms, and sentence structures function as tools of empowerment and social review. The findings show that Soultana localizes hip-hop discourse to address Moroccan gender inequality and patriarchal norms, which positions hip-hop as a space of cultural exchange rather than domination.
