This study examines the role of Algerian universities in supporting students who develop startup projects within the context of academic entrepreneurship. In response to economic and technological transformations, universities are no longer limited to knowledge transmission but have become key actors in socio-economic development. The research is based on the conceptual framework of the entrepreneurial ecosystem, university incubators, and entrepreneurial support, drawing on the 3P, 3M, and 3E theoretical models. An exploratory qualitative approach was adopted, combining a field survey of incubated students with an interview conducted with the management of the incubator at Mouloud Mammeri University of Tizi-Ouzou. The findings indicate that the university incubator plays a significant role in developing students’ entrepreneurial and managerial skills. However, certain weaknesses remain, particularly in financial management, legal knowledge, and networking. The study highlights the need to strengthen and better structure university-based entrepreneurial support mechanisms in Algeria.
