This paper examines the productive capacities index (PCI) for Arab countries in comparison to selected group Asian and OECD countries in 2022, using principal components analysis (PCA) among the eight PCI categories. The results reveal that 82.66% of the variance shared by eight variables can be explained by the two extracted components. Moreover, most Arab nations lag behind the selected sample, except for the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, which enjoy higher levels of productive capacities than both Asian and Arab countries and even some OECD countries. Additionally, the analysis highlights that institutions, ICT, human capital, and the private sector are the most influential categories for promoting sustainable economic growth and rising income levels and catching up with developed countries.
