Authors : Debabeche Rahmouna .

Abstract

The labor market is undergoing profound transformations driven by the expansion of the digital economy, where remote work, platform-based employment, and artificial intelligence increasingly reshape the nature of professional activities. Traditional labor law appears insufficient to address emerging challenges, particularly those related to non-standard contracts, weakened social protection, and the ambiguity of legal responsibility in automated environments. This study examines the adequacy of existing legal frameworks in reg uital work, with a particular focus on the protection of workers’ rights. It adopts a comparative analytical approach, drawing on international instruments and selected comparative legal systems. The paper argues for the development of a flexible and forward-looking legal framework capable of reconciling labor market flexibility with the protection of workers’ dignity and fundamental rights in the digital age
