الملخص
تسعى هذه الورقة البحثية إلى تسليط الضوء على المفارقات الزمنية في رواية ''أرواح هائمة'' لعبد العظيم إسماعيل، تلك البنية السردية المحورية التي تُمثِّل تشظي الذات وتشظي الزمن، حيث يتم تجسيد تداخل الماضي مع الحاضر وتعطيل التسلسل الزمني التقليدي بوصفه انعكاساً لأزمة الهوية في السياق العربي المعاصر. تستند الرواية إلى تقنيات الانزياح الزمني، بهدف إنشاء دائرة سردية تتشابك فيها الذكريات المكبوتة والصدمات الاجتماعية والتاريخية. This study aims to interrogate the temporal paradoxes in Abdel Azim Ismail’s novel"Errant Souls", a narrative construct that epitomizes the fragmentation of both selfhood and temporality. The text disrupts linear chronology by staging the convergence of past and present, thereby destabilizing conventional narrative order as a literary manifestation of the identity crisis pervading the contemporary Arab context. Through the deployment of temporal displacement techniques, the novel forges a circular narrative architecture in which repressed memories intersect with social and historical traumas, producing a multilayered temporal fabric that resists closure and coherence.
