Abstract

Participatory democracy is a new way of getting people and groups in civil society to be involved in making decisions and taking part in public life. Most countries want to promote participatory democracy because it helps people feel like they belong to the nation and builds solidarity among people. In this light, Algeria has taken steps to put participatory democracy into practice through its 2016 and 2020 Constitutions, which recognize it as a good way to help society grow.
