A Giant Retroperitoneal Cystic Lymphangioma : A Rare Entity To Know. A Case Report

Authors : Iaiche Achour Louiza .

Abstract

Retroperitoneal lymphangiomas (RL) are rare benign cystic tumors of the lymphatic system, which account for 1% of all lymphangiomas, and till now less than 200 cases have been reported. We present a case of a 45-year old male with a symptomatic retroperitoneal lymphangioma, the patient was successfully treated with complete surgical excision. Unfortunately, imaging alone cannot differentiate them from other retroperitoneal cystic masses. Surgical excision is the treatment of choice and required for final diagnosis.
