This article aims to identify the types of simile in the Holy Qur’an, and the pleasure and persuasion, it achieves for the reader and listener. Simile is one of the most employed styles in the arts of speech, due to its many expressive characteristics that enable it to convey hidden meanings in a clear form. It also achieves emotional and mental pleasure through artistic beauty. Rhetoricians have spoken about the purposes achieved by simile, representing this with examples from the Holy Qur’an. The Holy Qur’an is Arabic in style, and eloquent in expression, so similes abound in it in the style of the Arabs. However, the Qur’an has characteristics and features, which is the conclusion reached in our research.
