Psychometrics Through Projective Tests: Indicators Of Psychological Truth In The Child

Authors : Remmas Rachida Zohra .

Abstract

The methods and quality of interventions carried out by specialists during a child’s psychological evaluation differ significantly from those used with adults or adolescents. This distinction arises from the child’s unique psychological characteristics and developmental stage. For this reason, projective psychological tools that use simple and play-based expressions are among the most effective techniques. They provide key indicators of the child’s psychological reality and reveal areas of inner conflict. This article highlights the value of projective psychological tests, particularly the Family Test and story-based techniques, which are easy to administer and interpret. Such tools help psychologists simplify diagnosis, access the child’s psychological reality, and identify internal conflicts, especially in relation to parental dynamics and family interactions.
