Spatial Distribution Of Neighborhood Gangs And Its Impacts On Urban Community Security : A Case Study Of Biskra City

Abstract

Abstract This study sheds light on the phenomenon of neighborhood gangs in the city of Biskra by analyzing their spatial distribution and impact on community security in the urban environment. The study aims to understand the factors influencing the spread of these gangs within the city and identify the neighborhoods most susceptible to their presence, relying on official data provided by the Media and Public Relations Department of the Biskra Security Directorate. The study adopts an analytical approach that combines both theoretical and practical dimensions. It examines the patterns of gang distribution in the urban space and explores the social and economic factors contributing to their spread, such as poverty, unemployment, and family disintegration. Additionally, it highlights the negative consequences of this phenomenon, including rising crime rates, threats to security stability, and increased feelings of insecurity among residents. Furthermore, the study provides an analytical perspective to interpret the phenomenon from a socio-spatial viewpoint and proposes preventive and security strategies to curb the spread of neighborhood gangs and enhance security and stability in the urban community. الملخص : تسلط هذه الدراسة الضوء على ظاهرة عصابات الأحياء في مدينة بسكرة، من خلال تحليل توزيعها المجالي وانعكاساتها على الأمن المجتمعي في البيئة الحضرية. تهدف الدراسة إلى فهم العوامل التي تؤثر في انتشار هذه العصابات داخل المدينة، وتحديد الأحياء الأكثر عرضة لوجودها، وذلك بالاعتماد على بيانات رسمية مقدمة من قسم الإعلام والعلاقات العامة لأمن ولاية بسكرة. تعتمد الدراسة على منهج تحليلي يجمع بين البعد النظري والتطبيقي، حيث يتم تحليل أنماط توزع العصابات في المجال الحضري، واستكشاف العوامل الاجتماعية والاقتصادية التي تساهم في انتشارها، مثل الفقر، البطالة، والتفكك الأسري. كما تسلط الضوء على الآثار السلبية لهذه الظاهرة، من حيث تصاعد معدلات الجريمة، وتهديد الاستقرار الأمني، وزعزعة الشعور بالأمان لدى السكان، كما تقدم الدراسة رؤية تحليلية تسعى إلى تفسير الظاهرة من منظور سوسيو-مجالي، مع اقتراح استراتيجيات وقائية وأمنية للحد من انتشار عصابات الأحياء، وتعزيز الأمن والاستقرار في المجتمع الحضري.
