Conflicts In The Democratic Republic Of Congo: Cauldron Complexities And Shabby Foreign Meddling

Authors : Iratni Belkacem .

Abstract

Abstract: The violent events occurring in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) proved tragic and somehow inhuman. The scramble over natural resources or power rivalries may not be sufficient to explain the complex and enduring features of these events. However, the most horrendous feeling concerning the conflicts plaguing this country’s development for many decades, resides in the silence observed by the international community and the world media over the persistence of mass killings, dour displacement of the populations, severe economic rampage, and outrageous interference of neighbouring countries for contemptible power influence. This paper consists of a profound outcry in the face of these forgotten conflicts, the indifference shown by international organizations, world major powers, and human consciousness. It goes further beyond the attempts to complete an analysis of the Congolese spectrum and tragedies for mere academic purposes.
