الملخص
Arabs’ adoration for horses bewitched them to the point of making them and their own sons equals. Those with high status served these animals themselves because they were the pride that they cherish. Therefore, it caught the attention of poets and writers, old and recent, with dozens of books written on horses. Even kings were creative when it came to this subject since it was their weak spot, given the impact of these animals on their psychological, intellectual and social life, and one of them was the Prince of eastern Jordan Abdullah bin Al-Hussein Al-Hashemi. His love for horses was rooted from his hometown, the Arabian Peninsula, which pushed him to devote a whole book talking about them, entitled “The Questioner's Answer to the Thoroughbred Horses”. We chose the latter, under question to identify the qualities of horses, their varieties along with what was desirable or unpleasant from their features according to the Arabs at that time. عرف عن العرب حبهم الشديد للخيل حتى جعلوها بمنزلة الولد، وقد كان أشرافهم يخدمون خيولهم بأنفسهم، ويعدون ذلك مفخرة من مفاخرهم التي يعتزون بها. كما أنها حظيت باهتمام الشعراء والكتاب، فقد ألف القدماء والمتأخرون عشرات الكتب عن الخيل، حتى أن الملوك والأمراء كانوا مؤلفين مبدعين، نظرا لمكانة الخيل في حياتهم النفسية والفكرية والاجتماعية. يتقدم هؤلاء أمير شرق الأردن عبد الله بن الحسين الهاشمي الأديب والشاعر، الذي أذكت فيه طبيعة شبه الجزيرة العربية وجغرافيتها مسقط رأسه حب الخيل، حتى أفرد لها مؤلفا كاملا عنونه ب "جواب السائل عن الخيل الأصائل" محل الدراسة، والذي حاولنا من خلاله التعرف على صفات الخيل وأصنافها وما يستحسن ويستقبح من صفاتها عند العرب.
