Poems brimming with the values of exile, within what critics call "exile literature," have occupied a significant space in contemporary critical studies. This theme has become an important topic for both creative writers and critics. Interest in it has grown in line with the political and social circumstances in the Arab world in general, and Algeria in particular. This has obliged writers to engage with it to convey the concerns, pain, anguish, longing, and feelings of alienation they endure, whether through external exile, imprisonment, house arrest, or the imposition of values by the colonizer, such as speaking or writing in French or pursuing Western customs. On this basis, Algerian poets have embodied their personal experiences, replete with the aforementioned, under the guise of exile, regardless of its form. This theme carries connotations closely related to this matter, such as the search for self, alienation, estrangement, commitment, belonging, etc. This reflects the importance and specificity of this title. In this way, we ask: How has the theme of exile manifested itself in Algerian poetry? What are the limits of the relationship between it and the poetic self? To fully understand the subject, we have chosen to employ the historical and analytical approaches most appropriate to the nature of the topic
