Abstrac: This article examines one of the most significant historical issues of the 16th century—the Islamic-Christian conflict between two major powers: the Ottoman Empire and the Spanish Kingdom. The study focuses on a key episode of this conflict: the Hafsid Kingdom (Tunisia), which, by the late 15th and early 16th centuries, had entered a phase of weakness and decline that ultimately led to its fall at the hands of the Ottomans. The research traces the major stages of this struggle, starting from Khayr al-Din's campaign against Tunis in 1534 to the 1574 campaign, which transformed Tunis into the third Ottoman province (Eyalet) in the Maghreb and brought an end to the conflict between the two empires.
