In 2018, the Algerian National Library acquired a manuscript map relating to the Ottoman Empire, a major Islamic state of which Algeria was one of the provinces. This map contains valuable geographical, political, religious, and military information, making it an important testimony to a period of history that is no less significant. Since one of the National Library's missions is to preserve the nation's memory and cultural heritage, studying the map and verifying its authenticity is essential to ensure its use as a reliable source for future historical research. The research involved studying the map in terms of its attribution to its creator or the official body for which it was produced, and determining its date or time of creation. The work was divided into two parts: the first to define the map and its content, and the second to critique and analyze its accuracy. The research was based on two visits to the National Library to examine the map (in 2018 and 2021), a television documentary presented by Algerian television, and reviews and consultations with specialist professors from Turkish and Arab universities. The study used a descriptive approach based on analysis, comparison, and investigation, with the aim of revealing the truth about the map and proving its validity as a reliable historical source. The results included a detailed clarification of the correct informations contained in the map, thereby enhancing its academic and historical value in scientific research on the Ottoman Empire.
