This study examines the implementation and evaluation of two prominent Business English (BE) textbooks within Algeria’s private language teaching sector. Although BE remains absent from university curricula, it is widely offered in private institutions and language centres responding to the growing needs of corporations, professionals, and individuals seeking career-oriented English training. Focusing on the coursebook series Market Leader and Business Result, the research employs a post-use evaluation framework to analyse teacher perceptions of their pedagogical value. Data were collected through a checklist-based analysis and qualitative feedback from 15 instructors recruited via snowball sampling. Findings reveal notable strengths in content authenticity and visual design but expose limitations in contextual relevance and classroom adaptability. The study advocates for a more reflective, locally responsive approach to textbook selection and adaptation in BE instruction across Algeria’s private education landscape.
