Abstract

Abstract: The integration of technology in language classrooms has become essential in enhancing students' learning achievements. The present study aims to examine the role of teachers in developing and facilitating technology use in language learning in Algerian higher education, particularly at Saida University. It explores as well the challenges, benefits, and strategies employed by educators to effectively integrate digital tools in the language learning classroom. To undertake this study, the researcher has opted for a mixed-method approach that is manifested in a questionnaire composed of closed-ended and open-ended questions administered to teachers of the Department of English at Saida University and a semi-structured interview adressed to 6 teachers from the same department. The study participants demonstrated a high awareness of the importance of the use of technology in the classroom. The findings make it crystal clear that strategic top-down decision-making should take place, including teacher training, institutional support, and student engagement, to foster a technologically enriched learning environment.
