Abstract

This paper applies a Two-Stage Non-Cooperative DEA Model to assess the overall efficiency of University Colleges in Algeria. Colleges at the University of Blida 1 were chosen for the study in order to meet its goals. For variables of study, the input of the first stage represents faculty members and the number of students enrolled according to the structure of graduation. The intermediate variables were the rate of framing. The number of graduates and the expectations of graduates as the output variables of the second stage. The data is from the academic year 2020/2021. The results of the study indicate that most of the colleges, A through G, operate with less than optimal efficiency. The College of Applied Science and Technology (H), which achieved maximal efficiency (Efficiency = 1), served as the reference college for the remaining units. By analyzing optimal multipliers, we discovered that although most colleges' input weights (v.s1) stayed low, the weights of certain outputs (u.s2 and w.s1) significantly affected efficiency. This demonstrates that improving research and education will produce better outcomes than simply reducing inputs..
