This paper unpacks the depiction of Arabs and Muslims in the American animated sitcom Family Guy, questioning the intertwinement between distortion, stereotypes, satire, and politics. Building upon postcolonial and postmodernist theories, the paper analyses two key episodes to understand how such depictions foster harmful narratives and contribute to prejudice on TV. Findings reveal that Family Guy often perpetuates the “Bad Guy Syndrome”, framing Arab and Muslim characters as one-dimensional villains and nourishing the concept of “Otherness” pointed out by Edward Said and Michel Foucault.
