This study examines the impact of technological innovation on Algeria’s industrial productivity over the period 2000–2023. Anchored in Schumpeterian growth theory and the National Innovation Systems framework, the research employs an Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) model to analyze both short-run and long-run relationships among key variables. The results confirm a stable long-run cointegration, revealing that technological innovation is the main driver of industrial productivity, while R&D expenditure and foreign direct investment have significant positive effects, and human capital plays a modest complementary role. The findings underscore the crucial importance of integrating innovation into Algeria’s industrial policy to enhance diversification, sustainability.
