الاستشراق: مقاربة تاريخية نقدية

الملخص
تروم هذه الدراسة مقاربة موضوع الاستشراق من زاوية المفهوم فالنشأة ثم التطور من خلال تتبع السياقات التاريخية التي انبثقت فيها هذه الظاهرة الثقافية، والتي لعبت دورا محوريا في صياغة الرؤى والتصورات الغربية عن الشرق عموما وعن الشرق الإسلامي تحديدا، فقد ساهمت أوروبا منذ العصور الوسطى وحتى العصور الحديثة وبشكل فعال في التأسيس لحركة الاستشراق باعتبارها نقطة ارتكاز أساسية في العلاقات الثقافية بين الشرق والغرب، و قد شكلت هذه العلاقات المتنوعة والمتعاقبة زمنيا، فضاء اختلطت فيه أجواء متعددة، لا بل ومتناقضة أحيانا، فمن الحرب إلى السلم ومن التجارة إلى الثقافة ومن الحوار إلى القطيعة وصولا إلى التصادم في كثير من الحالات، غير أن العلاقة التصادمية هذه، مثلت دوما الخلفية التاريخية والقاعدة الثقافية في الذاكرة الجماعية الأوروبية، وهي خلفية كيدية عدوانية بالأساس، حملها الاستشراق الأوروبي في بداياته وحتى نهاياته، معتمدا عليها ومتخذا منها سلاحا استراتيجيا من أجل تحقيق أهدافه وبلوغ غاياته. This study aims to approach the subject of Orientalism from the perspective of the concept, its origins, and then its development by tracing the historical contexts in which this cultural phenomenon emerged. It played a pivotal role in shaping Western visions and perceptions of the East in general and the Islamic East in particular. From the Middle Ages to the modern era, Europe contributed effectively to establishing the Orientalist movement as a fundamental focal point in cultural relations between the East and the West. These diverse and successive relations over time formed a space in which multiple, and sometimes contradictory, atmospheres were mixed, from war to peace, from trade to culture, from dialogue to estrangement, and even to collision in many cases. However, the confrontational relationship has always represented the historical background and cultural basis in the European collective memory. It is a malicious and aggressive background in general that European Orientalism carried from its beginnings to its end, relying on it and adopting it as a strategic weapon in order to achieve its goals and objectives.
