Abstract

Abstract The current study aims at investigating teachers’ attitudes towards the use of oral explicit corrective feedback in teaching writing to EFL students. More particularly, it attempts to investigate teachers' views on how to use corrective feedback in teaching writing and which type oral or written) is more appropriate in this particular teaching/ learning context. In order to achieve this objective, a questionnaire was administered to a selected sample of university teachers. The findings reveal a strong preference for providing corrective feedback, with a marked inclination toward oral explicit forms. Moreover, the study sheds light on teachers' attitudes regarding the perceived effectiveness of oral feedback in fostering students' writing proficiency, ultimately suggesting directions for pedagogical practice and curriculum development.
