This study investigates the English language needs, challenges, and learning preferences of second-year medical students at the University of Bejaia. Conducted as a pilot study, it employed a multimodal, project-based approach to explore the specific skills students require, their attitudes towards learning methods, and their views on the role English in their professional development. The results indicate that students perceive English proficiency as critical for academic and clinical success. They expressed a strong preference for interactive, practical methods like videos, games, and project-based tasks over traditional instruction, emphasizing the need for pronunciation, listening comprehension, and medical terminology. The study concludes that a multimodal approach effectively aligns language training with the real-world needs of Algerian healthcare professionals.
