Abstract The agricultural calendar has been known in North Africa since the middle Ages, and its origins may have preceded that. It was particularly famous among agricultural practitioners and livestock breeders in North Africa and even in Al-Andalus. We point out that there are two calendars, one of which is based on twenty-eight status, with thirteen in each status, it is based on the Julian calendar, and another specifies time periods of the year. These periods have importance and influence on humans, animals, and plants. today, the agricultural calendar is widespread in Algeria, especially the Tissemsilt region, but it needs control and organisation, and rhymes, proverbs, and sayings have been written about it. Therefore, we will seek to adjust the two calendars and present the sayings, rhymes, and beliefs associated with them, and this is based on the literature that was written on the subject and linked to the field work that we did in Tissemsilt. We used the unstructured interview technique to allow the respondent to express the meanings of the time periods and the beliefs and perceptions related to them. We were able to control the calendar of houses and the rhymes related to it, as well as the calendar that is concerned with specific periods and the beliefs and perceptions related to it in Tissemsilt.
