This study aims to explore the relationship between information literacy and digital footprint management among master's students in the Department of Library and Media Sciences at the University of Djelfa. The study adopted a descriptive-analytical approach using a questionnaire distributed to a sample of 94 students. Results showed that students have a high theoretical awareness of the risks of digital footprints and the importance of data protection. However, a clear gap exists between this theoretical knowledge and practical application, as they do not adequately use advanced technical tools for protection. The study also revealed that the challenges they face are not as much technical as they are social and legal, particularly due to a lack of knowledge of data protection legislation. The study concludes that enhancing information literacy must go beyond the cognitive aspect to include practical and behavioral training, to enable students to effectively manage their digital footprint.
