Zhongguo's Transition To Carbon Neutrality

Authors : Ben Ammar Dawed .

Abstract

This study investigating the links between fossil fuel imports, renewable energy use, and greenhouse gas emissions in China from 1992-2019 employs the ARDL approach and Error Correction Model to examine the dynamics and estimate relationships between these variables over time. The findings offer insights into fossil fuels, renewables, and emissions interacting as China pursues climate change mitigation and carbon neutrality goals. The study highlights need for improved energy efficiency, low-carbon technologies, and international cooperation. Optimizing its energy mix enables China to mitigate environmental impact and meet neutrality targets. However, economic, social, technological, and lifestyle challenges must be addressed. Overcoming these demonstrates China's commitment to global climate action and leadership in fighting climate change.
