Abstract: This study aims to identify the most common sports injuries among primary school students during physical education and sports classes, which constitute a health challenge in primary schools where they may affect children's participation in physical activities and their motor development. The study used the descriptive analytical method on a sample of 50 physical education and sports teachers in primary education in Laghouat Province, Algeria, for the 2024/2025 academic year, randomly selected. A questionnaire was used as the main tool to collect data on the most common types of injuries and associated risk factors. The results showed that minor injuries represent 80–90% of total injuries, followed by moderate injuries (8%). The factors most associated with the occurrence of sports injuries were inadequate playing spaces and courts, insufficient warm-up, high number of students per group, and inappropriate sports equipment and materials. Based on these results, the study recommends the necessity of implementing an appropriate warm-up program for students in the preparatory phase of the class, with the need to prepare appropriate and safe playing spaces and surfaces for physical and sports activities, provide suitable sports means and equipment, and reduce the number of students in each group per class to ensure adequate space for their safe movement.
