In a mysterious manner, easy access to the thousands if not millions of sources by university students via internet made them lazy not self-reliant, and encouraged a lot to take short cuts towards a more sophisticated copy-paste process. The latter is sometimes done accidentally and most of the time deliberately for many reasons forgetting completely that such act harms their honesty as well as their academic integrity because they are stealing others’ intellectual property by using it (copy-paste) inappropriately. Indeed, they are committing what is called plagiarism. In this article, we briefly discussed this serious problem, which is terribly spreading among our university students, Master and doctoral in specific, and even teacher researchers. For more clarity, this paper spotted light on the history and definition(s) of plagiarism, stating factors and reasons contributing to this immoral behaviour, and suggesting ways to reduce it and detect plagiarists. This piece of research followed mainly a qualitative approach where extractions from previous experiences & writings adapted and adopted based on an APA methodology. Among the most important results in this research, plagiarism was and still remains an unethical behaviour that must be fought by all means for the sake of preserving the field of scientific research.
