الملخص
مع توسع دائرة الاهتمام العالمي بالطب الشعبي بما في ذلك العلاج النباتي، فضلا عن تصاعد تكاليف الرعاية الصحية، أطلقت منظمة الصحة العالمية استراتيجية 2025-2034 لتنظيم وضبط الطب التقليدي (الشعبي)، متوخية في ذلك ضمان تمتّع الجميع بأعلى مستوى من الصحة والعافية؛ لذا تهدف هذه الورقة إلى إبراز دور الأنثروبولوجيا في الصحة العامة، مع استجلاء أهمية منهج عبر الثقافات في ترشيد استعمال العلاج النباتي في إطار الاستراتيجية. ولتحقيق هذا الهدف تم وصف وتحليل أظهر إسهامات أعلام الأنثروبولوجيا في مجال الصحة؛ مع إبراز أهمية منهج عبر الثقافات في تحديد الأنماط الثقافية العالمية والتعبيرات الثقافية الفريدة، ولا سيما في الممارسات العلاجية النباتية. وخلصت الدراسة إلى توضيح الدور الفعال للأنثروبولوجيا في نقد وتفسير قضايا الصحة العامة من خلال الأسس النظرية والمنهجية في تشريح الواقع وتجلية الفهم للمشاكل الصحيّة، وكذا أهميّة منهج عبر الثقافات في تعزيز الفهم العميق لحقيقة الاختلاف في تجارب المرض والشفاء، والذي بدوره يفضي إلى تعزيز رعاية طبية أكثر شمولية وفعالية للمريض. Abstract: With global interest in traditional medicine expanding, including herbal medicine, and healthcare costs rising, the World Health Organization has launched its 2025–2034 strategy to standardize traditional (folk) medicine to ensure all individuals globally attain the highest standard of health and well-being. This paper aims to highlight the role of medical anthropology in public health and to elucidate the significance of a cross-cultural method to rationalizing herbal medicine within the strategy. To this end, anthropological contributions to health were analyzed, emphasizing how cross-cultural methodology identifies global cultural patterns and unique expressions, particularly in plant-based therapeutic practices. The study concludes by clarifying anthropology’s effective role in critiquing and interpreting public health issues through theoretical and methodological foundations that dissect reality and illuminate understanding of health problems, and by demonstrating how a cross-cultural approach fosters deep comprehension of diverse illness and healing experiences, thereby promoting more inclusive and effective patient care
