This study examines translation as an interpretive practice, moving beyond mere linguistic conversion to highlight its deeper complexities. Every translation inherently reflects the mediator’s cultural perspective, resulting in varied meanings and interpretations. By analyzing how cultural and subjective factors influence language transfer, the study demonstrates that translation is an active process of meaning-making. Literary and philosophical texts, in particular, demand deeper interpretation, presenting unique challenges due to their nuanced and context-dependent nature. Approaching translation hermeneutically reveals how the translator’s knowledge and cultural lens shape the final output, requiring a delicate balance between fidelity to the source, cultural adaptation, and creative expression. Hermeneutics frames translation as both an ethical duty and an artistic endeavor, positioning it as crucial mediation between cultures. Ultimately, translation facilitates cross-cultural understanding, enriches global dialogue, and serves as a vital bridge between languages, connecting diverse worldviews in an increasingly interconnected era.
