Three Jewish tribes lived in Yatherib as Prophet migrated there. The Prophet did not force them to abandon their religion and embrace Islam instead, he made a treaty with them that protected them and acknowledged their rights, making them residents of Madina. He would invite them, answer their questions, visit their markets, attend to their sick, and respect their funerals, extending kindness to them to a great extent. In return, the Jews met this kindness and outreach with hostility and harshness; they displayed their hatred and envy, tried to divide his Companions' ranks, tarnished his call, and angered him with their actions. Every time, he was patient with them, enduring their harm, forgiving and generous, until they began to incite and provoke the disbelievers and tribes to invade him, as they declared enmity and prepared for battle. He fought each oppressive tribe, while ensuring to just expel them from the city and rid it of their evil, until God commanded him to ultimately expel them from the Arabian Peninsula.
