Linguistic And Legal Balance In The Translation Of Legal Terms Under Algerian Law

Abstract

In legal translation, the main challenge for any researcher is to find a new version of the same text. A seemingly impossible task given that law reflects the entire history and culture of the country. It therefore seems rare to be able to transfer exact legal terms and concepts from one legal system to another while keeping the same legal effect of the original text. The influence of French law and Islamic Law (Sharia) on Algerian law poses the problem of translating legal terms into English, which increases the challenge for the Algerian researcher
