The M’zab region is rich in a significant collection of archaeological sites left by Islamic civilization in particular, Its material heritage plays an important role in preserving the memory of the nation, its cultural depth, and the distinctiveness of its local culture, Islamic societies, including the Ibadi Mouzabite community, have acquired several civilizational and social aspects in the rational exploitation of water without resorting to waste. They created several facilities, considering them a civilizational product that highlights the extent to which the population has adapted to the harsh natural environment in which they live. They worked and overcame the challenges they faced in creating these facilities, which did not come easily in this region. These facilities are of great importance in the Mouzabite community as they are the only refuge for adapting to the harsh desert region to ensure living in it.
