Abstract: Translator training programs focus fundamentally on developing specific knowledge and skills crucial for navigating the labor market and diverse professional situations; although a newer field compared to language teaching, this globally recognized discipline employs varied institutional approaches and strategies, and this article's aims are precisely to identify these essential translator competencies, demonstrate the pedagogical objectives underlying the development of each skill, and propose targeted exercises to strengthen them. The significance lies in providing a clearer framework for translator training, offering practical pedagogical tools, and ultimately enhancing program effectiveness to better prepare students for professional demands. Adopting a methodology centered on pedagogical analysis and synthesis, the article identifies core skills and clarifies their learning objectives. The principal findings presented are a structured overview of these requisite skills, a delineation of their specific training goals, and a curated set of practical exercises designed to foster their development, thereby contributing valuable resources for curriculum design and classroom practice in translator education
