The composition of a poem involves both internal and external components that are critical to its construction and artistic value. In his book "Jawahir al-Adab wa Thakhari’ al-Shu’ara wa’l-Koutab," Ibn al-Sarraj presented his critical perspective and outlined systematic and structural rules that help to achieve symmetry between the poem's elements, including its language and imagery, and establish a coherent structure. These rules facilitate the interrelationship between form and content, thus enhancing the quality and overall impact of the poem. The techniques highlighted by Ibn al-Sarraj highlight the nature of Arabic poetry and its artistic mechanisms, as well as contribute to a special statement that is unique to the form. Overall, this research provides valuable insights into the critical perception of the structure of ancient Arabic poetry.
