Abstract: Language acquisition in children is a natural process that begins at birth, gradually evolving from random sounds to forming complex sentences. It progresses through several stages, from babbling to uttering the first words, followed by constructing simple sentences and learning grammar rules. This process is influenced by various factors, including social interaction, linguistic environment, repetition, and innate readiness. Several disciplines, particularly psychology and linguistics, have extensively studied these factors due to their interconnection, especially in learning theories. These theories offer different perspectives on how children acquire language: the behavioral theory emphasizes imitation and reinforcement, the nativist theory suggests an inherent linguistic ability, and the social-constructivist theory highlights the role of interaction. Parents play a crucial role in enhancing a child's language skills through continuous conversation and reading.
