Abstract: The Frankfurt School emerged as a prominent critical intellectual movement in the early 20th century, shedding light on the analysis of cultural, social, and political structures from a Marxist critical perspective. Led by thinkers like Theodor Adorno and Max Horkheimer, the school focused on understanding the relationship between art and the culture industry within modern capitalist society. In their book *Dialectic of Enlightenment*, they introduced the concept of the "culture industry," which describes the transformation of culture into a commodity produced and consumed like any other market product. This process, they argued, strips art of its critical and liberating essence, reducing it to a tool for entertainment rather than change. The scholars emphasized that this industry reinforces capitalist domination by imposing homogeneous cultural norms that weaken critical thinking. The school concluded that genuine art, with its depth and complexity, must awaken consciousness and liberate individuals from cultural subjugation, emphasizing the need to reclaim creativity in the face of cultural commodification.
