Authors : Tsouri Bentsouri Abdelbaki . Larabi Fatima Zahra .

Abstract

This article examines the complex relationship between the mental lexicon and language processing. It argues that they are not separate systems, but rather intertwined and in constant, reciprocal interaction. The lexicon is defined as a dynamic, multifaceted system that stores our knowledge of words, and is constantly changing as we learn new words and refine existing knowledge. It is organized into complex networks based on semantic, phonological, morphological, and syntactic relationships. The article also delves into how linguistic units are organized within the mental lexicon. it is based on semantic relationships such as hierarchical categories and associative networks, as well as phonological relationships and phonological rules. Morphological organization and syntactic organization also. And it concludes that this interaction is crucial to understanding typical and atypical language development, second language acquisition, and the development of computational models of language. Further research using advanced neuroimaging and computational modeling is essential to unlocking the secrets of this complex human ability.
