The Internet of Things is revolutionizing supply chain management, particularly within transportation operations. This article explores the integration of internet of things technologies into facility supply chain management, focusing on the transportation sector. The primary objective is to analyze how internet of things can enhance the efficiency, visibility, and overall performance of transportation operations. The study reviews existing literature on internet of things applications in supply chain management and provides an overview of the current state of research. It also presents a methodological framework for implementing internet of things solutions in transport operations and discusses the potential benefits, such as real-time monitoring, predictive maintenance, and optimized logistics. The findings suggest that internet of things adoption can significantly improve operational outcomes, but challenges such as cybersecurity, data management, and high implementation costs remain critical barriers. This paper contributes to the ongoing discussion on internet of things’s role in transforming supply chain management and offers recommendations for future research and practical application.
