Modern legal systems are often criticized due to the instability of the legislative text and its implications, arguing with the rapid movement of the economic system. This is evident in the tax legislation because it is closely related to this system. Therefore, it is recommended that the principle of legal security, which is concerned with the quality of the legal base, should prevail in all legislation. This is the scope of our study that aims to show the extent to which the principles of legal security have been affected in Algerian tax legislation with the large number of tax legislation and its continuous amendments. In order for the tax to play the role assigned to it, it must be based on bases that guarantee a fair tax system which achieves equality in legal positions among the citizens concerned with the tax. This requires that the assessment of the tax base, its calculation, and its collection in a proper manner are compatible with the provisions of the tax legislation in force.
