The issue of environmental protection is closely linked to the effective enjoyment of fundamental human rights, such as the right to life, food, health, housing, self-determination, development, sanitation, and access to water. Conversely, these rights can be negatively impacted by global warming and climate change, which adversely affect their actual realization. Indigenous peoples are among the most vulnerable groups to the impacts of climate change, as this phenomenon affects their cultural rights and identity. This is largely because they often reside in remote areas and fragile ecosystems that are particularly susceptible to changes in the physical environment. In this article, we aim to shed light on the key rights connected to cultural rights and the negative impacts of climate change on them. Additionally, we will discuss possible ways to mitigate these impacts and ensure the protection of the cultural rights of indigenous peoples.
