ملخص: تعالج هذه الدراسة شخصية الرئيس التونسي الحبيب بورقيبة الذي ولد في مطلع القرن 20 في ظروف و بيئة استثنائية تكون في الداخل و الخارج و قاوم نظام الحماية في تونس و حررها و أصبح يتمتع برصيده تاريخي كبير وقاد بلاده طيلة أربعة عقود من الزمن، تعددت ألقابه في كتابات معاصريه من أبناء بلده من النخب السياسية من الفاعلين والنافذين السياسيين ،فلقب "بالحاكم بأمر الله ، و بالمجاهد الأكبر ،و بالزعيم " فسالت أقلام هؤلاء في مؤلفات و مذكرات و شهادات حول هذه الشخصية المحورية الاستثنائية التي صنعت الجدل محليا و دوليا. فما هي الظروف البيئية و العوامل الاجتماعية التي ساهمت في صنع هذا الرجل ؟ Abstract: This study deals with the personality of the Tunisian President Habib Bourguiba, this exceptional and charismatic personality. He was born at the beginning of the 20th century in exceptional circumstances and environment at home and abroad. He resisted the protectionist regime in Tunisia, liberated it, and came to enjoy a great historical reputation and led his country for four decades. In the writings of his contemporaries, among his countrymen,the political elite and influential actors, he was called “the ruler by the command of God, the greatest mujahid, and the leader.” So the pens of these people asked in writings, memoirs, and testimonies about this pivotal, exceptional figure who created controversy locally and internationally. What were the circumstances? Environmental and social factors that contributed to creating this man?
