The research explores Ayred, a cultural tradition in Beni Snous, Algeria, rooted in Berber heritage. Ayred includes a theatrical performance with costumes, masks, and traditional songs. The study aims to unveil current performers' understanding of the linguistic content of these songs and their conveyed historical and cultural significance. Questionnaires and interviews gathered qualitative and quantitative data from locals. Results indicate that while young participants lack precise knowledge of Ayred's historical, social, and cultural dimensions, they perceive its songs positively. Moreover, they believe the festival preserves the valley's cultural and historical heritage
