Since the outbreak of the Algerian revolution, the French enemy has noticed that the main supporter of the National Liberation Army is the inhabitants of the mountains and the Algerian countryside. Therefore, they intended to displace them from their lands in order to facilitate the siege of the Mujahideen and prevent their supply of weapons and food. Because of the entrenchment of the National Liberation Army in the mountains and dense forests, they decided to open mountain paths in order to Enabling war machines to penetrate into the strongholds of the Algerian revolution, To confront this strategy, the leadership of the revolution ordered the Algerian people to refuse to work in road paving workshops. It also worked to attack military support centers to discourage them from achieving their plans through attacks, ambushes, and mines of roads and paths.
